What is ThreadScanner?

ThreadScanner is a local-first desktop app that re-examines suspicious email for phishing, business email compromise, malicious documents, and QR-code lures. It’s a complement to your email gateway, not a replacement, and it analyzes messages on your own machine.

Which platforms are supported?

macOS is available first. A Windows build is planned next — if you’d like to be notified, join the waitlist.

I clicked “Download for macOS” but it says “coming soon.”

The signed macOS build is being finalized. While it’s being published, the download button routes to the waitlist so you can be first to get the link. Once the signed build is live, the button downloads it directly.

How do I install and activate my license?

Download and open the app, then go to Settings → License and paste the license key from your purchase email. The app verifies the key’s signature locally; an internet connection is only needed for periodic license verification and updates.

Does my email leave my machine?

No. The contents of the emails and attachments you analyze are processed on your device and are not transmitted to ThreadScanner. If you explicitly enable a cloud AI provider with your own API key, a redacted summary is sent from your machine directly to that provider. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. To update your payment method, change seats, or cancel, email admin@threadscanner.ai and we’ll send you a secure billing portal link. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

I’m getting an “over seat limit” notice. What does that mean?

Each license includes a number of seats (devices). The app reports how many devices are using a license; if that exceeds your plan, you may see a soft notice. It will not block your work — contact us to add seats or remove an old device.

How do I report a security issue?

Please email security@threadscanner.ai. We aim to acknowledge reports within two business days and will credit researchers in release notes unless you prefer otherwise.

How do I request data access or deletion?

Email admin@threadscanner.ai with your request. See the Privacy Policy for the data we hold and your rights.

Do you offer enterprise terms, an MSA, or a DPA?

Yes. For volume licensing, a Master Services Agreement, a Data Processing Agreement, or a security review, contact Admin@threadscanner.ai.
